Sarah Decker

Physician Assistant

Sarah Decker was born and raised in Arizona where she grew to love the outdoors and life sciences. As she became more involved in academics and athletics, she became fascinated by the human body and its resilience and vulnerability to everyday life. This enthusiasm drove her to pursue a career in the medical field as a physician assistant (PA). After volunteering at a hospital, shadowing an orthopaedic surgeon, and becoming involved in health care clubs, Sarah developed interests in the fields of orthopaedics, traumatology, and surgery. She was finally introduced to the orthopaedic trauma field in the form of a clinical rotation with Jamie Coracides, PA-C. As she trained with Jamie, Sarah began to appreciate how complex the field is and found satisfaction in helping trauma patients recover from their injuries. She knew that she wanted to continue working in such a challenging and innovative field. After graduating, Sarah joined Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons as physician assistant to Dr. Michael Billhymer. She has made it her goal to assist him in providing excellent patient care, both in and out of the operating room. Sarah Decker is a certified physician assistant. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biological Sciences. She earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University.
